After a two-year hiatus, Hillbilly Days is returning to Pikeville, Kentucky! It’s safe to say that everyone is itching to get out and enjoy the festivities, so we here at Pikeville-Pike County Tourism CVB decided to help you get your Hillbilly Days festival plans in order. So bring your favorite hat, your best pair of overalls and trim your beard, it’s going to be a good time in Pikeville this week!

Live Entertainment You Must Check Out

Hillbilly Days features 3 stages of live music throughout the festival’s three days, with local favorites from across various genres showcasing their amazing talent each day. These stages are located in the:

The Dustin Lynch Party Mode Tour with special guest Sean Stemaly is the featured concert of Hillbilly Days 2022, which will be held Thursday, April 21 at the Appalachian Wireless Arena. Tickets for this show can be purchased here or at the Community Trust Bank Box Office.

Reno Collier will also be performing at the Appalachian Center for the Arts Friday, April 22, and will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Reno has built a reputation by selling out comedy clubs and colleges nationwide. In 2004 he joined Larry The Cable Guy on the hugely successful Tour of America. Following the success of that tour, in 2005 Reno taped his own Comedy Central Presents half-hour special. Tickets for this show are on sale now, visit www.theapparts.org for details.

Hillbilly Days Family Fun

Perhaps the most popular Hillbilly Days attraction is the carnival, which will be opening up Wednesday evening at 6:00 p.m. The carnival will be open Thursday through Friday, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m., with the carnival open from 10:00 a.m. until midnight on Saturday.

Brought to you by the Southeast Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, and operated by Big Rock Amusements, the 2022 Hillbilly Days Carnival information is now available online hereWristbands will be available each day, so be sure to check out www.hillbillydays.com for details.

Another very popular attraction that is coming to this year’s Hillbilly Days is the Dino Roar Tour! This family-friendly, educational attraction will be available Friday and Saturday at the times and locations below:

  • Friday, April 22, show times will be 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. at the intersection of Hambley Blvd. & Huffman Ave., and 6:00 p.m. at the intersection of Main St. & Division St.
  • Saturday, April 23, show times will be 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at the intersection of Hambley Blvd. & Huffman Ave., & 4:00 p.m. at the intersection of Main St. & Division St.

Hillbilly Days 2022 Parade

The Hillbilly Days 2022 Parade is one of the main highlights of the festival, and will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday., April 23. It is highly suggested that you find a spot along the parade route an hour before the parade begins, as the route fills up quickly. For details on the parade route, click here.

The parade always features a string of goofy cars, outlandish characters, and floats that will crack you up. Be sure to exercise caution, and keep an eye on the little ones as the parade passes by.
