Pike County Tourism CVB is giving away 2 tickets to the sold out Train Excursion Ride from Grundy, Va. to Devon Wv. This first-of-its-kind passenger rail excursion is schedule for April 19, 2014. The excursion is part of Norfolk Southern’s “21st Century Steam Program” and will be operated by the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum. The train will depart from and return to downtown Grundy, Virginia. The excursion will travel through the Hatfield McCoy Feud territory in Pike County, Kentucky before arriving at Devon, West Virginia prior to its return to Grundy. A former Southern Railway 630 steam locomotive will power this special excursion train with diesel assistance.

Not only will the winner get to enjoy this historic train ride, but also a relaxing stay at the Hilton Garden Inn of Pikeville complete with dinner for 2. We thought it would also be fitting to offer a meet and greet & photo op with the descendants of the famous feuding Hatfields and McCoys; Reo Hatfield and Ron McCoy. These two men, along with Bo McCoy, were involved in organizing and signing the treaty that officially ended the feud.
