How the Grinch Stole Christmas at The Appalachian Center for the Arts

December 6 @ 3:00 pm - 5:30 pm

A holiday favorite is coming to life on stage in downtown Pikeville as The Appalachian Center for the Arts presents Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical this December.

Presented in partnership with Pike Central High School, this special production brings together local students, community actors, and musicians to celebrate the spirit of the season both onstage and off. It is a community collaboration designed to share a beloved Christmas story with audiences of all ages.

Based on the iconic animated film and classic children’s book, How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical features a book and lyrics by Timothy Mason and music by Mel Marvin. The story follows the grouchy Grinch, whose heart is “two sizes too small,” as he hatches a plan to steal Christmas from the cheerful Whos of Whoville. But as the story unfolds, he discovers that the true meaning of the holiday cannot be wrapped up, taken away, or stolen.
