Matewan Depot Replica Museum
The Matewan Depot Replica is a 24×135 ft. Smithsonian quality reconstruction of the steam
era Matewan station that stood across the railroad tracks from downtown Matewan until the
late 60’s. It serves as the Convention and Visitors Bureau office and museum.The Depot
houses artifacts and information about the Hatfield&McCoys, the Matewan Massacre, coal
mining , and the railroad. Local arts and crafts, books, t-shirts, and more are available for
purchase in the gift shop. Feel free to stop by and ask for tips about where to go and what to
do.

WV Mine Wars Museum
Proudly offering the largest exhibition of Mine Wars history anywhere in the United States, we walk visitors through this legacy with compelling exhibits of archival photos and videos, first-person accounts, rare artifacts and replicas, and detailed timelines placing the events of the Mine Wars era in a global context.

Hatfield McCoy Airboat Tours
You haven’t done wild and wonderful until you’ve done Hatfield and McCoy Airboat Tours.
During the tour you not only get to experience an exhilerating ride down the Tug River, but
also be immersed in the beauty of West Virgina’s natural landscapes. This region of
southern West Virginia contains a very diverse eco-system of trees, birds, small game and
other wildlife. Your captain and tour guide will give you a run-down on the local history and
historical sites associated with the Hatfields and McCoys. Tours are based out of the
Matewan Depot and take about one hour.
