Breaks Park will host special activities and games for visitors in celebration of the July 4 weekend. Plans also include a performance by Backwoods Bluegrass Boys at the amphitheater on Saturday, July 4.
“Independence Day Weekend is always a blast at the Breaks and this year will be no exception,” said Park Superintendent Austin Bradley, “Our programming staff has put together a great schedule filled with games, contests, and entertainment to help our visitors enjoy the holiday weekend with their families.”
Visitors will enjoy a cornhole tournament, watermelon eating contest, watermelon seed spitting contest, tomahawk throwing, sack rack, ring toss, and tug of war at the Visitor Center on Saturday, July 4.
Additionally, regular programming activities including hikes, activities, and more will be held throughout the weekend.
On Saturday evening, Backwoods Bluegrass Boys will perform at the amphitheater beginning at 7 pm. Admission is free.

Breaks Interstate Park is located on the Kentucky – Virginia border and is accessed by State Route 80.
