Save the Coal

For well over a hundred years, the coal mining industry and the railroad industry have worked hand in hand to bring economic wealth to Eastern Kentucky and the surrounding region. With the wildly popular Norfolk Southern Train Excursion on the way, Friends of Coal is sponsoring a coach to bring the two beloved industries together as a reminder to everyone of how important each have been to the commonwealth. This coach will be featured on the upcoming April 19th Train Excursion from Grundy, VA to Devon, WV.

Rodney Mosley

“Coal is my livelihood. I have worked both underground and surface for over 30 years and continuing. Coal is a God given fossil fuel that has kept my family fed and the lights on across America. I am a proud coal miner, father and grandfather.”

Rodney Mosley, as well as other coal miners and their families, will be riding the Norfolk Southern Excursion Train Friends of Coal Coach Saturday, April 19, 2014.
