Summer is a time for relaxation, fun, and creating memories, and what better way to do that than with a refreshing swim? Pike County Tourism is excited to announce that our highly anticipated Free Swim Day event, originally scheduled for the 4th of July, has been rescheduled. Mark your calendars for Sunday, July 21, 2024, and get ready for a day of sun, water, and family fun!

Why the Change?

Due to weather, we had to cancel the original event on the 4th of July. We know how much everyone was looking forward to it, and we apologize for any inconvenience. But the good news is, the fun is still happening! We’ve chosen a new date, and we’re hoping for perfect weather so everyone can enjoy the day without any interruptions.

Event Details:

  • New Date: Sunday, July 21, 2024
  • Time: All day
  • Location: Historic RT 319, the iconic land of the Hatfields & McCoys
  • Brought to you by: Bob & Rita Scott

This event is hosted by Pike County Tourism and is a fantastic opportunity to bring the community together before the school year starts. It’s a day for families, friends, and neighbors to enjoy the beautiful summer weather, cool off in the pool, and make lasting memories.

Why You Should Attend:

  1. Free Entry: That’s right, no admission fee! Just bring your swimsuits, towels, and excitement.
  2. Historic Location: Enjoy a swim in the heart of the Hatfields & McCoys territory, adding a touch of history to your fun day out.
  3. Community Spirit: Events like these bring our community closer, allowing us to bond and enjoy each other’s company in a relaxed setting.

What to Bring:

  • Swimsuits
  • Towels
  • Sunscreen
  • Water bottles
  • Picnic blankets or chairs
  • Snacks or a packed lunch

Looking Ahead:

We’re keeping our fingers crossed for sunny skies and hoping there’s no Thunder & Lightning ⚡️ this time around. This event is not just about swimming; it’s about celebrating our community, our history, and the end of summer. It’s a chance for kids to have one last hurrah before heading back to school and for parents to relax and enjoy a day out with the family.

We’re excited to see everyone there, making a splash and having a blast. Let’s come together on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Historic RT 319 and make this Free Swim Day a memorable one!
