According to the Center for Disease Control, 1 in 50 children are born with autism each year. Pikeville City and Pike County officials, employees, and community members have once again come together to organize the “East Kentucky Autism Awareness Walk”. This very important event will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the East Ky Expo Center. Like all of the Autism Awareness Walks before it, the purpose of this event is to create a voice for and lend an ear to the families affected by autism. Free t-shirts, lunch, and activities will be provided to all participants.
