US23 Artists: The Man Behind Your Favorite Hillbilly Days Photos (Pt. 2)

Country Music Highway US23 is known for producing some of America’s most beloved country artists. From Loretta Lynn, to Dwight Yoakam, The Judds and Patty Loveless, the legendary Country Music Highway proves that Appalachian culture is ripe with talent. However, Eastern Kentucky talent is not only found in music, but also in the realms of painting, drawing, crafts and photography. Pike County Tourism CVB welcomes you to discover the work of our regional artists with the US23 Artists blog series.

Larry Epling: Photographer & Media Specialist
Known for his work in capturing Appalachian life, events and culture, Larry Epling is a photographer, media specialist and IT professional from Pike County, Kentucky.  Larry volunteers for Pike County Tourism CVB and is found at most every major event, such as Hillbilly Days, Muscle on Main and Hatfield McCoy Heritage Days, shooting photos and interacting with visitors. Larry also works at the University of Pikeville as a Systems Administrator, and is an avid sports fan, capturing photos of every exciting moment of Upike basketball, football and softball.
